The Dark Knight Trailer

I remember loving the Batman films in the 90's (sans Batman&Robin, which I knew was a piece of shit even when I was young). But as I grew older, and started to read more of the darker Batman comics, I realized that while those were good films, they just didn't represent the charecter of Batman, or at least the Batman I wanted. Then came Batman Begins in the summer of 2005, and I finally saw the Batman movie I was waiting for. And once the credits started rolling, I looked over to my friend and asked, "Who do you think should play Joker?"

I got an answer to that question last year, when it was announced that Heath Ledger (yes, Heath Ledger), would play the Joker. Dissapointed in the news, I told myself not to make any judgement on the film until I saw the teaser trailer for the film.

Well...here it is folks.

My reaction:

The Bad: No real complaints really. Only thing I didn't like was the lack of Harvey Dent (played by Aaron Eckhart) and the new Batsuit. The cowl looks amazing, but the rest of the suit just doesn't look right.

The Good: Pretty much the entire trailer is amazing, from the opening line to the last shot of the Joker. Ledger, dare I say, looks to have an Oscar-worthy performance. Bale looks as fantastic as he did in Begins. And the lack of Holmes (and the replacement with Maggie Gylennhall) is quite comforting. The film looks even darker than Begins(which was already dark). Nolan seems like he has done it again.

This is easily my most anticpated movie next year. July 2008 can't come any faster.

Introduction of Blog

This is the blog of the Wacky Paki. I don't use my real name because I find my nickname to be a much more accurate description of who I am. I am wacky...and I'm paki. Though I was born in Plano, Texas and currenly reside in Maryland. Besides my physical apperance and my love for samosas, I don't share any simliarites with Pakistani people really. But this blog is not about me.

This is a blog dedicated to giving professional, intellectual, and personal opinon on four big areas of society: Politics, sports, movies, and music. I probably will talk about movies and sports more than politics and music, but all areas will get their fair share of time.

So, without further ado....let the blog begin.
